Day 62 Jeffrey City, Wyoming to Lander, Wyoming 93km

We found out more about the history of Jeffrey City last night from the locals. It used to have around 6,000 people living there due to the uranium mines in the area. Now it is just a ghost town with about 50 residents and lots of deserted buildings including a big high school and gym. We met some interesting characters like Bill and Byron who work in the pottery in town and Gusty and Vikki who worked in the cafe/bar. Vikki also made us the biggest pancake I have ever seen for breakfast. It was the size of a dinner plate and 2 inches thick.
The cycle today was quite tough with some wind to deal with. I had a close call with a rattlesnake this morning. I got too close to it as I cycled by and It struck out at me, but Luckily it missed.
